Atlas lay your burden down

Atlas lay your burden down

The skies will hold themselves tonight

Let the stars shower glitter

and the moon fade away

Come and lower your arms

Release the clouds that are heavy with rain

and lift the blanket of night from your shoulders

Come and rest your head against my chest tonight

Atlas lay your burden down

Tonight the world will bear the weight

and the heavens will remain until tomorrow

Come to me and close your eyes

Let the skies fall tonight

and gaze at the beauty of your burden

Watch the glint of the suns and the shine of the moons

lost in the darkness of the endless skies above

Atlas lay your burden down

lest the weight become too much

For if the skies crush you down tonight

who will take up the weight in the morning?

Lay beside me now

and rest your back against the grass

look at all you have been holding

with the strength of your will and your body

Rest with me now

lower your hands and fold your knees

dream of the earth solid beneath your feet

and the oceans will sing you to sleep in my arms

Atlas Telamon, ever enduring, take up your burden now

The sun is awake and the skies are calling your name

It is time to bear the weight again

But you are all the more stronger now beside me
